i'm not sure why i didn't like this book, as it is exactly what i expected - a 'travel journal' of sorts by both Michael Ian Black and Meghan McCain. But...it just fell flat. i felt bored at times, lectured at others. I was hoping for a little humor, but didn't find any. I haven't read any of McCian's other books, but this doesn't make me want to pick them up. I find her endearing, and one of the few Republican's who's beliefs i can understand, even if i don't agree with them, but this book portrayed her (or, really, she portrayed herself) as repetitive and trying to hard to please everyone. which, i appreciate her attempts to find common ground, but it came across as tip-toeing in this book. I'm torn on this book. I love the concept and I love Meghan McCain but the tone of the book turned me off. For the first half, they don't appear to like each other at all and the segments don't connect. I think if the trip itself had been more organized, more thought out with a more coherent narrative rather than being quite so experimental, it would have made more for a book that hung together better.

Good read depicting thoughts from both sides of the political fence. Funny too, I LOL'd many a time!

Well, I only got to page 130. Interesting and topical but I didn't feel like finishing it.

It was very hard to put down, but I was expecting more talk of politics.

I have little interest in politics, but still enjoyed this book.
