It's interesting to reread a book with "adult" eyes. I read this series a long time ago, and it's good for what it is. They're all rather short, not much character development, but interesting ideas, especially with the "soulmate principal". The world building is fair, and some characters are definitely more likable than others. I think I enjoyed it more as a younger reader, but I like it well enough as an adult. I love how they put all nine books in only three volumes. That way you don't need to buy all the books separately which can get expensive. This book's list price is ten dollars and it has three books in it. I find it sort of stupid how newly written books can be ten dollars for just one little book! Back to the review, I loved reading Poppy, Mary-Lynnette, and Blaise's individual stories. I get most of my books used so when I saw all three volumes with nine books in all, in the clearance section in my book store for only two dollars each, I decided to try them. I didn't expect very much out of them- maybe a quick summer read. Wow was I wrong! I couldn't put them down while I was on vacation and they captivated me until the very end. I would recommend these books to anyone! Now I am reading L.J. Smith's Vampire Diaries series which I hope to enjoy as much as I enjoyed these books. The only thing wrong with this series is, L.J. Smith has supposedly been writing the 10th book (STRANGE FATE) for more than 10 years and it still isn't out!!!
