For such a long series, I didn't know much about it except that Kaylee screams when death is near. I probably should've started with the first book instead of the prequel. The prequel really didn't tell me much about anything, just that Kaylee was being lied to and mental institutions are creepy and apparently destroys your social life. Anyway, Kaylee was super clueless. I liked her, don't get me wrong, but sometimes she just doesn't know anything, which is to be expected considering her family hid her heritage from her, but I wish she'd known more things. She was very naive and had a very black and white and I need to save everyone outlook. It'll be interesting to see her change as she slowly realizes that the world isn't perfect. Oh, and she needs to stop walking into situations that she can't handle. Honestly, she's lucky that she's alive after her little stunt in book 2. I'm not really a fan of Nash. It was quite obvious that he knew a lot of things Kaylee didn't from their first meeting. I always feel like he wants more from Kaylee because she's a bean sidhe and not really for who Kaylee is. Overall, despite my complaints, I still enjoyed it. There was just something about the stories and characters that dragged me in, to see if Kaylee can actually save those people. I'm waiting on my book 2 to arrive in the mail. I just love the cover for these! I was pleasantly surprised by the Soul Screamers series. This was a discount book at a thrift shop and I bought it primarily because it was cheap. I flew threw it in a day (minue the last chapter) and am going to begin the hunt for more asap. A great storyline; fresh ideas and twists that keep the pages turning and the hours rolling by. Kaylee is your typical teenage main character, and I appreciate that. She's hot for a boy, self conscious about herself and dealing with the same issues (minus the screaming and death premonitions) that most of us girls dealt with as teenagers. I love Nash, and Tod, and Emma especially. Looking forward to learning more about the bean sidhes and Netherworld!
It was really great! I didn't expect it to turn out the way it did but it was good overall.
The story is different which I like. I will continue reading the series.
