Totally okay!I'm partial to the character, and Asrar's art is top notch, so this went down like butter for me. The story, dialogue, all that is sort of a re-tread of the classic Clark getting his powers story, but with hints that Kara could be more powerful than he, that make for an interesting twist. Kara gets a new, but familiar origin, and some unique new enemies to call her own right off the bat. This is comics done well, but nothing incredible or must-read.How do you feel about Supergirl? Do you love her and want to give her a big hug? Then by all means, read this book, and hug it! Otherwise, don't feel like you're missing out on anything TOO exciting. As I did with Wonder Woman, I wanted to choose a female superhero who my husband hadn't already read. Although he started reading Supergirl when she became a Red Lantern, he hadn't gone back to the beginning (or the beginning of the New 52 Supergirl, anyway). I enjoyed this even more than I enjoyed Wonder Woman. Kara Zor-El is a confused teenager, unsure where she is or why. Finding herself on an alien planet, she doesn't know who to trust and chooses to lash out and ask questions later. I was able to sympathize and understand Kara in a way I didn't expect. When I finished this volume, I couldn't wait to start the next one.
