I enjoyed this first of the Angel Island series. I was hoping that I would get the same warm and cozy feeling from it as I would from the Cape Light series and I am pleased to say that I was rewarded. Although it has a different feel from the other series because the story was told from only one narrator (as opposed to showcasing different characters), it appealed to me because it felt a bit more relevant or modern. I am really looking forward to seeing where the series leads and can't wait to see how, if and when it ties in with our favourite characters from Cape Light! I really enjoyed reading about the lives of this brother and sister who - with the help of some new friends and an island they had spent much time on growing up - found out what was really important to them. I have been thinking a lot lately about how our lives revolve around who we are and who we are becoming and the people who are a part of our lives. Our values and our lives determine who we become and - well, I guess I am still working on the full understanding here - but the struggles Lisa and Peter faced really helped me in my pondering.Highly recommend this as a good, clean, refreshing read.

Similar to the first set- Cape Light books. But I love the pictures and the story.
