The Invasion Of The Tearling (2000) I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book, and oh my gosh it's amazing. It is very different from Queen, it delves into the history of the land and more of the magic. Kelsea changes and develops in so many ways, and not all of them good. The integration of Lily's story is absolutely fascinating. So many questions from the first book are answered, and so many more are raised, I'm not one to give spoilers in my reviews, but this book has me seriously tempted. This is such a great series! The second book by Johansen definitely doesn't disappoint. You get to know the Queen a bit more and see how she is changing, and you also get a lot of ties to the Pre-Crossing which makes the whole thing easier to understand. Just like the first book, I couldn't put it down and was disappointed when I finished it. Would definitely recommend to anyone who likes futuristic fantasy fiction - this is like The Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones.
