This book tries very hard to be interesting, but it's not. Like that show "Brain Games" on the National Geographic channel, it's full of "Can you believe that...?" statements supported by only moderately compelling evidence from this or that study. Whilst reading each short chapter, you say to yourself, "Wow! That's so interesting!" but by the time you get to the next chapter, you've forgotten whatever astounding tidbit was just revealed.A well-researched and thoughtfully written book, but certainly not a must-read. I read about 30 pages and decided not to finish it. This is not like the books I typically read since I normally read fiction books however, when a friend gave this to me as a gift I was intrigued. I have always had an interest in psychology but it wasn't until this book that it was really solidified. It was a nice introduction to someone like me who had very little previous knowledge on the topic. The book has a nice balance - it informs readers with cheeky attitude that makes it refreshing to read.

This book certainly helps you become less stupid. I wish I had read this a few years ago.
